Safe Space

‘Safe Space’ started as a completely different concept that was originally depicted as a physical manifestation of a safe haven I keep locked away in my head.

But, I heard a call (have you read Big Magic? You can’t ignore that inspiration!), and it demanded I create fish. lots and lots of fish. now. RIGHT NOW. Despite this shift, the name 'Safe Space' remained apt, reflecting the theme of seeking security within one's environment.

While most humans would not call the open ocean a ‘safe space’, it offers sanctuary to countless small creatures. Through the safety of the community, even the smallest fish can thrive. A school of sardines and other shelter-seeking animals like rock fish, crabs, and starfish finding solace in their surroundings symbolizes this innate need for protection and belonging.
